CLUB RUN PROCEDURES

  1. The club captain, or if absent, vice captain is in charge and may nominate a run leader for the day, whose instructions must be obeyed by all members and any guest riders. Any disagreement should be voiced to the club captain or vice captain before the start of the run.
  2. Prior to departing the run leader issues details of the route, chooses the Run Marshals and Tail-End Charlie (preferably volunteers), who will be identified by fluro waist coats.
  3. Before leaving, the leader should walk past all riders from Tail-End Charlie to the front of the group to make sure all engines have started and are running OK.
  4. NO-ONE will overtake the leader unless by prior agreement. Where possible marshalls will ride immediately behind the leader who will signal when to " drop off" at a corner if required. That rider MUST wait until sighting tail end Charlie who will signal him everything is OK. The marshal should then try to get back into position behind the leading group as soon as SAFELY possible. Riders should try to help with this by allowing him to overtake when safe to do so.
  5. The run leader should judge the speed to suit the slowest machine, make periodic stops to re-group, check everyone is OK and accounted for. On restarting repeat step three.
  6. If riders are leaving the run before the end they should inform the run leader, Marshals and Tail-End Charlie when convenient, i.e. one of the stops.
  7. All riders should ride safely within the road conditions of the day and with due consideration to all other road users.
